The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed many companies to make extensive use of remote working. This working practice has mainly affected the public administration, which has so far been rather late with this measure. The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe) carried out a survey in order to explore employees’ experience of remote working in the period March-June 2020. In the survey, several aspects were investigated, such as employees’ opinions, motivations, difficulties encountered, monitoring of work activities, effectiveness, and pros and cons of remote working. Starting from collected data, the most suitable procedures for organizing and managing remote working in IZSVe will be developed. A regulation of remote working that facilitates the IZSVe employee’s work activity considering its specific needs such as work-family balance and psychophysical well-being will be defined in the near future.
